SAGIO’s 2027 Collection Explores Fluid Identity Through Fashion - fluid identity
SAGIO’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection launched in 2027, focusing on fluid identity.

For Spring/Summer 2027, SAGIO continues exploring identity. The collection examines how individuals perceive themselves. A reflection changes with light, movement, and perspective. The same person can appear whole from one angle and fragmented from another.

This instability is central to the collection. No single image can fully capture a person. Strength and vulnerability, discipline and emotion, restraint and expression coexist within us, their visibility shifting with the moment.

Water as a Principle of Construction

Water further illustrates this concept. Still, it creates the illusion of perfect clarity. In motion, the image fragments and reconfigures, constantly adapting while retaining its essence. Within the collection, water symbolizes the interplay between stillness and movement, contour and dissolution, structure and flow.

Two women embody this dialogue, each from vastly different backgrounds. Marie Antoinette, under constant scrutiny, used clothing and silhouette to craft a public identity. Veruschka, in contrast, employed camouflage, body paint, and staged transformations to shift between woman, animal, environment, and sculpture, allowing identity to emerge through change rather than remaining fixed.

Structure Meeting Fluidity

These concepts are reflected in the garments through the combination of structure and fluidity. Defined silhouettes are disrupted by draping, twisted construction, and sculptural volumes that move with the body. Reflective surfaces and translucent layers interact with light, while shifting proportions allow the same silhouette to appear different from every angle.

Some garments maintain a clear contour, while others allow the body to merge with folds and reflections. Alexander Sagio stated, “As a designer, I feel this tension myself. Fashion pressures us to move faster, produce more, and constantly respond to what’s already been seen. But I believe our true responsibility is different: not to replicate what exists, but to preserve the freedom to create something personal, something that conveys genuine emotion, not just another familiar image.”

REMIX XVIII REBORN adopts this freedom, consciously choosing what to reveal, conceal, and transform. Rebirth, in this context, is an act of recognition: the moment when different versions of the self no longer feel like contradictions but part of a continuous, evolving identity. The most powerful moment is simple: someone catches their reflection and recognizes something truly their own.

A Modern Reinterpretation of the Power Woman

Based in Budapest, Alexander Sagio serves as SAGIO’s Creative Director. Before discovering his passion for fashion, the Baku-born designer earned a degree in architecture, which significantly influenced the foundation of his future work.

Fascinated by sleek lines, unexpected proportions, and contrasting volumes, SAGIO translated his long-standing passion for architectural shapes into his eponymous brand, launched in 2023. The result is a compelling blend of sartorial rigor and intense sensuality.

Each collection strives to balance hard and soft, provocative and restrained, confident and delicate. His designs offer a modern reinterpretation of the power woman, a concept championed by designers like Azzedine Alaïa, Thierry Mugler, and Claude Montana.

Authenticity and True Luxury

SAGIO caters to strong, assertive individuals who rely on both intellect and sexual confidence. The Budapest-based designer harmonizes the primal aspects of human nature with something more subtle and sophisticated.
