In November, Canada Goose is set to unveil an expanded flagship store at Westfield Sydney, further solidifying its presence in Australia. This move follows the brand’s initial entry into the market with a pop-up at the same location in late 2023.
The new flagship store expands upon the existing site and comes after the opening of Canada Goose’s first permanent Australian store at Chadstone in February 2024. Currently, the brand operates three permanent stores across Sydney and Melbourne.
According to Canada Goose APAC president Dan Binder, the company is concentrating on its current Australian stores and the upcoming flagship launch before considering additional expansions. The flagship store’s opening follows the recent debut of Canada Goose’s Chatswood Chase location, which showcases the brand’s innovative luxury retail concept.
Spanning 254 square metres, the Chatswood Chase store features a private VIP area for personalized styling sessions and displays artwork by Inuit artists from the Canada Goose Art Collection. This store is situated on the center’s exclusive luxury floor, which was introduced earlier this year as part of its $625 million redevelopment project.
Dan Binder noted that the redevelopment has provided Canada Goose with a prime location alongside other renowned international luxury brands, as well as an opportunity to introduce its new concept to the local market. Designed in collaboration with Norwegian architecture and design studio Snøhetta, this concept has previously been implemented in cities such as Paris, Milan, Chicago, and Vancouver.
While Canada Goose spearheads its Australian retail expansion, Brand Collective, its local partner since 2023, oversees commercial operations, eCommerce, and retail networking. Dan Binder commended Brand Collective as a “highly valued and effective operational partner” in the brand’s endeavors.
Earlier this year, Canada Goose organized its inaugural APAC expedition, a four-day journey to Karijini National Park in Western Australia’s Pilbara region, centered around its Natural Intelligence brand platform.
