T20 World Cup 2022
The ICC T20 World Cup 2022 is to be held on Australian soil. Although the T20 World Cup will start on October 16 itself, the thrill will start on October 22 when the Super-12 matches will start.
England has announced its team for the T20 World Cup starting in October. The command of the team has been handed over to Jos Buttler. The most important thing here is that explosive batsmen like Jason Roy and Alex Hales have not got a place in the team. Jofra Archer has also been kept out of the England team due to not fully recovering. England has included five specialist fast bowlers and two spinners in their 15-man squad for the World Cup. Along with this, two fast bowling all-rounders have also been included in the team.
England Team Analysis for T20 World Cup 2022
England has a mixed team with youth and experience which is good and they have good batting with good fast bowlers. If Jos Buttler is in form, then he can give competition to any opposition team. Ben Stokes is also a huge strength of the team.
Jason Roy was dropped from the team
England has not selected their leading opener Jason Roy in the team for T20 World Cup. Roy continues to flop with the bat. In The Hundred, he scored 51 runs in 6 matches. Three times he could not even open the account. Earlier, he had also failed in the series against South Africa and India. England has selected three reserve players – Tymal Mills, Liam Dawson, and Richard Gleason.
England Team Strengths – Explosive batting and all-around players
England has a mixed team with youth and experience. The depth of batting and the presence of multi-faceted players make England extremely brutal. The England team has players like Jos Buttler, Alex Hales, Phil Salt, Liam Livingstone, and Ben Stokes. Moreover, the presence of Moeen Ali at number 7 and Chris Woakes at number 8 makes it clear that we cannot keep England out of the game with the bat unless we have taken at least 8 Wickets from them. England can easily beat any team bowling attack in T20.
T20 World Cup 2022: England Players to Watch out for
- Jos Buttler is the captain of the England team after leaving the captaincy from Eoin Morgan. He was ruled out due to injury before the series from Pakistan but will be in the T20 World Cup. Jos Buttler is a destructive player. Butler is the most dangerous opener in T20, he showed it during the Tata IPL 2022 with 863. He scored 4 centuries and 4 half-centuries during the season with a strike rate of around 150.
- Liam Livingstone – Liam Livingstone is one of the most sought-after names in this format of the cricket game. Livingstone proves to be very effective in T20s with his huge sixes and excellent strike rate. Livingstone has played 35 matches for England, including one century and one half-century, scoring 618 runs with a strike rate of 138.
- Ben Stokes – England’s Test captain has only played Match in only 34 T20Is, but he is a player who will focus on the T20 World Cup 2022. He has a strike rate of 136 in the 34 matches he has played and has taken 19 wickets. Stokes on his own can change the course of the game with his big-hitting with the bat. England team will have high hopes from Ben Stokes in T20 World Cup 2022
